INDOOR SKYDIVING

During the time we stayed in Tucson, Ariz. our friend we stayed with found an advertisement in one of the Tucson travel guides for indoor skydiving. No one in our group had ever tried any kind of skydiving, and we weren't sure what to expect, but decided to give it a try. It ended up being one of the best decisions we made during the entire trip and possibly the best $50 I've ever spent.
That Wednesday evening we drove about an hour north of Tucson to Eloy, Ariz. and Eloy Municipal Airport, home of SkyVenture Arizona Indoor Skydiving, where we arrived to take flight. While waiting for our turn in the vertical wind tunnel, we had a chance to watch other more experienced flyers practice their technique. We all realized how skilled those people before us were after we found out how difficult it was during our turn.
Before entering the flying room we watched an instructional video about the technique of flying and were given about a 15-minute class by a flying instructor. After the instructor saw that we understood the proper technique, we suited up in the flying jumpsuit, goggles and helmet, waiting our turn anxiously.
Entering the flying room was surreal. It felt like you were actually free falling from an airplane down to Earth, and the best part was you didn't have to worry about pulling a parachute. Each of us got two one-minute sessions in the flying room with the instructor who kept us from flying out of control.
It was some of the most fun we had all trip and something everyone should experienced. The only thing I would have done differently was to stretch more before flying. We were all sore the next day.
