Wandering around fruit stands and pumpkins in Kansas City Mo.'s City Market may lead to the realization that it's a good day to enjoy a creamy, sweet and delicious drink.
Among the stands of the Farmer's Market you'll find flavored teas, gourmet coffee, smoothies, slush's and fruit juices at reasonable prices.
Here lies Lollicup, with more than 170 different drinks offered. You'll be sure to find something you like. Beginning as a single store in 2000 in San Gabriel, Calif., there are now more than 80 Lollicup Company's in 11 states.
Lollicup's leaders, Alan Yu and Marvin Cheng, continue to ensure the highest quality for their food and beverages. Effective management operations and customer satisfaction are the two key fundamentals they uphold to maintain their success.
They continuously try to enter new markets and expand Lollicup USA, Inc. Their current partners include Universal Music Group (UMG), Little Pic People, BriteVision Media, Miramax Films, Patch Products Inc. and YesAsia.com.
What makes Lollicup unique is the use of Boba's in their drinks. Boba's are also referred to as tapioca pearls or tapioca balls. It comes from the starch of the cassava root.
After it is cooked, it becomes a sweet, chewy ball with a texture comparable to gummy bears and is about ΒΌ inch in diameter. Boba's are added to the drink which is then vigorously shaken to enhance the flavors. These drinks are called a "Bubble" drink, considering the bubbles that remain at the top of the drink after the shake-up.
They were also called pearl milk tea until the idea was introduced in Hong Kong. The locals began the name Boba, which translates into "Big Pearls."
Add the Boba to any drink-milk, tea, icy, smoothies, juice and coffee. With the option of adding them to 170 or more drinks offered, this makes for endless combinations.
