Maryville, Mo. immediately began buzzing with excitement. It was a decision Aaron Dontez Yates made that kicked ticket sales through the roof and sat people shoulder-to-shoulder at his concert. Yates-more popularly known as Tech N9ne.

As it usually goes with must-see concerts, raging ticket sales left some fans high and dry with no seat to see the Kansas City rapper.

"There were more people at the concert then we anticipated," Jerome Gilreath said, student volunteer for the concert. "That was the only problem-I wish we could have gotten everybody in, but we just couldn't."

The lucky ones who bought tickets in time received a close-up, personal concert.

"The concert was in a closed area, giving the concert an up-close feel," Gilreath said. "After talking to all of the students, they really enjoyed themselves and we had no problems."

Thirty-seven years old and performing like he's 20, students were impressed with the upbeat, entertaining concert.

"He was so energetic, it's obvious he puts a lot of work into what he does," student Tarrell Burrell said. "Rapping and giving great concerts is definitely his craft."

The best-selling MC out of his Kansas City hometown, rapper Tech N9ne's musical career has spanned 20 years, during which he has performed sold out shows from coast to coast.
