For those with a crave to dance, visit the Spanish Fly dance club in downtown Columbia, Mo. "The Fly," as referred to by the locals, gives visitors a taste of Caribbean atmosphere in the heart of Missouri.

Anyone from beginners to experts can show off their moves. The club regularly schedules live bands and also offers Salsa lessons for those who want to learn.

"I like the Spanish Fly because it is a place to celebrate our culture and heritage through dancing," Victor Capas of the Dominican Republic said.

Columbia is also home to the University of Missouri-Columbia. During football season, hundreds of eager tailgaters line up outside the stadium to cheer on their Tigers. Fans fire up the grill, and the smell of slightly burned hamburgers begin to fill the autumn air.

"The only thing more intense than the football game would have to be the tailgating," Chad Seila, 23, of Kirksville, Mo., said.

For outdoor enthusiasts, The Devils Ice Box Cave is a popular tourist attraction. The cave itself is just a short hike from the parking lot and features some of the most beautiful rock formations found in Missouri. There is no cost to visit the cave, so it's a great way to spend a lazy Sunday.

For great food and a memorable live music experience, visit Sake Japanese Restaurant.

The restaurant opened up several years ago, but has gained notoriety for their exquisite sushi and great atmosphere. Sake also offers a fully stocked bar for those of legal drinking age.

Those needing a place to stay the night will have no trouble finding a hotel to stay at. The large city atmosphere of Columbia has drawn many hotel chains to the area, such as Hampton Inn, Days Inn, and Comfort Inn. All the hotels offer a wide variety of services and specials that are sure to please just about anybody.

Anyone interested in visiting Columbia can contact the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau at 573-875-1231.
